I think the best codebreaker translation is "descifrador" que descifra: un diccionario descifrador; un investigador penetrante, un descifrador de enigmas y misterios.

This was a terrific discussion. Living in Los Angeles, I'm very interested to learn what words can be used in mixed company. Gustavo Arellano, who writes a column called "Ask a Mexican!" for the Orange County Register, takes care of all the off-color words. Pues, nalgas en lugar de culo en México y hermosa por una mujer bellisima en lugar de guapa! Ahora entiendo la reacción que me dio una mexicana quien llame' "guapa."
