Congratulations Cassie. Really good to hear how you came across ChinesePod.
It is wonderful to see someone selflessly jump at the chance to help others the way Cassie has done. A big thankyou to her.
Jenny is right. Her students are very lucky. I would like to hear more about the mentor system in China. It sounds as if it is taken a lot more seriously than here in the UK.

Great job Cassie, your interview sounded effortless. Your English is certainly accomplished, as everyone here has commented about.
Keep up your good work. I am just beginning to understand Mandarin and face a long march to be as accomplished in Mandarin as you are in English.
This is a great community of intelligent and thoughtful users. Thanks to all, I learn something everyday because of the users like Cassie that comment so frequently.

October 26, 2008
From the way it was explained to me, while I lived in China, the military training is something akin to boy scouts or girl scouts in the U.S. The goal is to foster teamwork skills and discipline among the students. Although most of my students usually complained about the experience, heh.
Also, I have agree with the earlier comments about Cassie's English. I can only hope that one day my Chinese will approach that level of comfortability.

I wonder if I will have worn out my welcome with ChinesePOD staff by the time I travel to Shanghai next year. It is my hope to see them at the start and again at the end of my trip, to see how much a month in China can improve on what I have already learned from ChinesePOD. However, I can understand if they are too busy for this.. it's not all fun and games. So may be once is enough to go there. I definitely want to meet them all at least once though..

Rjberki,
About graduate school, I had dreamed about study abroad before! It must be a wonderful life experience that study abroad and feel the real western culture by oneself! I bet that I will definitely benefit from the culture impact! However, for some social matters and personal matters, I choose to work first! I will do post graduate study when I really need to someday!
About travel, I have never go to other places that outside Fujian Province before! I wish I could visit Shanghai ,Beijing and other famous places someday!(I still can have summer vacation and winter vacation since I choose to work in college!^_^)
Adam,
I wish I could meet Connie soon! She is very cute! Especially when she say哼!,But, if I meet Connie, I will not be a little Cassie(小甜甜) any more! I will be a big Cassie! I meant I am bigger and taller than Connie!LOL

October 27, 2008
excuter,
What does GRMPF stand for? The only thing I could find was "lautmalerei, für den biss in den eigenen hintern" which made sense and made me laugh, but I couldn't see where those letters came into that.
bababardwan says
October 27, 2008
actually,
If the above interpretation was right then the letters don't stand for anything as it is onomatopoeia, right?

xiaohu says
October 30, 2008

Brandon Lee (1965-1993)
xiaohu says
November 8, 2008
Kimiik,

Hi Cassie, great interview. My other half is from Quanzhou in Fuijian Province and although we live in Shanghai we do quite often go for trips back to Fujian (mainly Quanzhou, Xiamen and Fuzhou). A fantastic province - but so many dialects....I must learn Min Nan Hua once I've finally mastered Pu Tong Hua!
cassielin says
December 28, 2008
Hi chris,
You are right, there are about 7 kinds of dialects in Fujian province. I can only understand fuzhouniese福州话, I don't know Min Nan dialects either. You must learn 闽南话since your wife is from 泉州, which is in the southern part of Fujian Province. If you know 闽南话 that might help a little when you communicate with your mother-in-law岳母.:-D
xiaohu,
I am sorry I missed your question. ummm,to be honest, I have not watch a whole movie that 李小龙acted. I was too little to watch Tv at that time.
