das Halsweh = sore throat
die Halsschmerzen = sore throat

I just signed up for this great podcast. Being a rank beginner, I really need to access lessons prior to April 1, 2007. Although I found the post stating that there are links to earlier lessons, I found nothing earlier than Jan., 2007 and those only using RealPlayer. Is there anyway to get the early lessons as podcasts? Thanks!

I really like this podcast. Although I am studying German, I want to learn some Swiss German words and about life in Switzerland, and since Steaphan lives in Switzerland, he talks a little bit about life in Switzerland. And the pace is good and he spells out the words on this site. Also, he posts a great picture for each episode.

In this episode, when he said a nurse is Krankenschwester in German, I thought that perhaps a male nurse is Krankenbruder in German. I looked up my dictionary, and found that a male nurse is Krankenpfleger.
