Learn to Speak German - Lesson 028 - Mein Schlafzimmer
Today I will show you my bedroom...
You can see the German words on the picture. I build the bed myself, by the way and have yet to find a woman, to, you know, ähm, test it with me. So if you live in Switzerland, please feel free to, you know, mhm, apply .-)

American readers might be interested in this: when I was in Germany I found an interesting difference in the Bettwäsche. There was a fitted sheet but no top sheet! This seemed terribly dirty until I learned that the blanket has a removable blanket cover which can be washed like an American top sheet. Now I like the German system better, because it is much easier to make your bed in the morning when you don't have to go searching for where your sheets got kicked off to. The blanket cover buttons nicely around the blanket, so it's pretty hard to lose! It takes a little practice to learn how to get the blanket cover onto the blanket, though. A friend taught me to do it by turning the blanket cover inside out before putting it around the blanket. Otherwise you might get stuck inside your blanket cover, like my roommate did once!
A lot of Americans use this method also. Duvets and duvet covers. Flat sheets are frankly very annoying for me. They just end up getting kicked around down to the bottom of the bed.
