The real seat is Berkeley's own design and is very compfy to cast with and play fish on. They are stunning looking rods and im am over the moon with how they cast and play fish. I never use controller floats, just simply attach 8-12lb line straight through to a specialist size 8 carp hook. The rule is floating baits, and if its a few inces below the surface then its not a floating bait.

As for feeling the lead down, and feeling for the "donk", will depend on what the lake bed is. I usually find that they will take tutti-frutti when most of the flavours havent provoked a bite.
